The Basilica of Notre Dame is the largest church in Nice and the oldest example of modern religious architecture in the city center. It was erected in the heart of the new town after the Comté de Nice became part of France. It was built in Gothic style and notable are mainly the late nineteenth-century series of stained glass windows.
