Barony Hall in Glasgow is an old church building. It took its name from Baron parish, which encircled the east end of the city centre. It is one of the best examples of the Scottish Gothic Revival architectural style that was first opened in 1890. It had been designed by Sir J. J. Burnet. The architecture inside catches the eye. It looks really good after recent makeover. In 1995 three stained glass windows designed by John Clark were installed to commemorate the bi-centenary of the University. There is a very good acoustics for concerts.
The events inside are predominantly related to The University of Strathclyde, including examinations, research days and live performances. The majority of University’s ceremonies take place here. It is a very good venue for a wedding as it is quite close to Glasgow Cathedral. Otherwise, it is mostly ignored not only by tourists but also by locals.
